This inner-south pocket sits on reclaimed ground: the former Rosebery Racecourse and the old Botany Swamps, now covered by dense public housing estates and newer apartment towers. Rapid construction on the old racecourse site left some properties with budget-grade fittings now reaching the end of their working life, showing up first as small leaks that become bigger, costlier ones the longer they're left.
